The Larson Electronics MGS-4803P.CL.1600A-75KVA-208Y.120-M2 heavy duty power transformer substation converts three-phase 480V AC electrical current to three-phase 208Y/120V AC. This unit provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480V from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power.

The Larson Electronics MGS-4803P.CL.1600A-75KVA-208Y.120-M2 portable power distribution system gives operators the ability to power their 480 volt, 208 volt and 120 volt equipment from a single system. On the primary side, operators bring three-phase 480V line-in power using two sets of 16 series male camlocks (two green, four brown, four orange and four yellow) and bring three-phase 480V power out using two sets of 16 series female camlocks (six green, six brown, six orange and six yellow). The primary side contains four Meltric DS200, six Meltric DS100C and eight Meltric DS60 for 480V equipment. On the secondary side, operators are provided access to six Meltric DS60 receptacles for 208V equipment, two L14-30R receptacles for 120/208V equipment, four L5-30R receptacles for 120V equipment and six CR20 duplex receptacles for 120V equipment. All receptacles are protected with weatherproof covers.

Operation: One set of 16 series 400-amp, 600V rated 45¡ male camlocks (one green, two brown, two orange and two yellow) brings three-phase 480V power to the first NEMA 3R 800-amp, three-phase 480V main circuit breaker panel, which contains two 200-amp 3-pole 480V breakers protecting two 200-amp 600V rated Meltric DS200 receptacles, four 100-amp 3-pole 480V breakers with three of the breakers protecting three 100-amp 600V rated Meltric DS100C receptacles and four 60-amp 3-pole 480V breakers protecting four 60-amp 600V rated Meltric DS60 receptacles, as well as three 400-amp 3-pole 480V primary breakers and two sets of 16 series 400-amp, 600V rated 45¡ female camlocks (three green, three brown, three orange and three yellow).

One set of 16 series 400-amp, 600V rated 45-degree male camlocks (one green, two brown, two orange and two yellow) brings three-phase 480V power to the second NEMA 3R 800-amp, three-phase 480V main circuit breaker panel, which contains two 200-amp 3-pole 480V breakers protecting two 200-amp 600V rated Meltric DS200 receptacles, three 100-amp 3-pole 480V breakers protecting three 100-amp 600V rated Meltric DS100C receptacles and four 60-amp 3-pole 480V breakers protecting four 60-amp 600V rated Meltric DS60 receptacles, as well as three 400-amp 3-pole 480V primary breakers and two sets of 16 series 400-amp, 600V rated 45-degree female camlocks (three green, three brown, three orange and three yellow).

The NEMA 3R 75 KVA transformer converts 480V to three-phase 208Y/120V 60Hz and passes the current to the secondary panel. The secondary side of the transformer feeds a NEMA 3R 225-amp, three-phase 208Y/120V main circuit breaker panel. This secondary panel contains six 60-amp 3-pole 250V breakers protecting six 60-amp 600V rated Meltric DS60 receptacles, two 30-amp 2-pole 250V breakers protecting two 30-amp 125/250V L14-30R receptacles, four 30-amp 1-pole 125V breakers protecting four 30-amp 125V L5-30R receptacles and six 20-amp 1-pole 125V breakers protecting six 20-amp 125V CR20 duplex receptacles.


Protective Construction: Unlike many portable power distribution boxes made of plastic and utilizing thin gauge, low grade metals in their construction, this unit is designed for serious use and is ruggedly constructed to withstand demanding conditions and heavy duty industrial applications. The transformer and load assembly is mounted on a 3/16" thick carbon steel mounting platform and the load center/distribution assembly is mounted to the standard 2" x 2" x 1/8" square carbon steel tubing frame, resulting in an extremely stable, durable and well protected power distribution platform. This model is equipped with forklift skid pockets, locking casters, and a top located lifting eyelet which allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This can be replaced for an additional cost with stainless steel, hot dip galvanized steel, or aluminum depending on the customerÕs needs. Larger units are available upon request and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted.

Certification: All units are built in accordance to NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and certified to UL 1640. All equipment is NEMA 3R rated for indoor and outdoor use and provide a degree of protection against dirt, water, and ice. NEMA 4 and NEMA 4X equipment can be equipped upon request.

Grounding: Transformer is grounded to the frame and we provide a grounding lug on the frame for the earth ground.
