Made in the USA The Larson Electronics MGS-480V-3X100-1X30.60-75KVA-208Y-6X50-1X30-20X20 power distribution substation converts 480VAC three-phase electrical current to three-phase 208Y/120VAC. This unit provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480V power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power. Portable Power Distribution Purpose and UseThe MGS-480V-3X100-1X30.60-75KVA-208Y-6X50-1X30-20X20 temporary power distribution system gives operators the ability to power their 480 volt, 208 volt and 120 volt equipment from a single system. On the primary side, operators connect 480 volt line-in power using a customer provided cord to three 600V-rated ADR1034, one 600V-rated ADR6034, and one 600V-rated ADR3034 receptacles for 480V equipment. On the secondary side, operators connect to five 1250/250V-rated CS6369 receptacles for 120/208V equipment, one 250V-rated CS8369 receptacle for 208V equipment, one 250V-rated L15-30R receptacle for 208V equipment, and ten 125V-rated double-gang 5-20R quad boxes (total of twenty 5-20R duplex receptacles) for 120V equipment. All receptacles are equipped with weatherproof covers. Operation: A customer provided cord brings 480V three-phase power to the 800-amp primary main circuit breaker panel, which contains three 100-amp, 3-pole breakers protecting three 100-amp, 600V-rated ADR1034 receptacles, one 60-amp, 3-pole breaker protecting one 60-amp, 600V-rated ADR6034 receptacle, one 30-amp, 3-pole breaker protecting one 30-amp, 600V-rated ADR3034 receptacle, and one 125-amp, 3-pole breaker feeding the transformer. The NEMA 3R 75 KVA transformer converts 480VAC three phase to 208Y/120 three phase and passes the current to the secondary panel. The secondary side of the transformer feeds a NEMA 3R 250-amp, 208Y/120V main circuit breaker panel. This secondary panel contains five 50-amp, 2-pole breakers protecting five 50-amp, 125/250V-rated CS6369 receptacles, one 50-amp, 3-pole breaker protecting one 50-amp, 250V CS8369 receptacle, one 30-amp, 3-pole breaker protecting one 30-amp, 250V, L15-30R receptacle and twenty 20-amp, 1-pole GFCI breakers protecting ten double-gang 125V duplex quad boxes (total of twenty 5-20R duplex receptacles). One 100-amp, 3-pole breaker is also available as a spare in the secondary panel. Protective Construction: Unlike many portable power distribution boxes made of plastic and utilizing thin gauge, low grade metals in their construction, this unit is designed for serious use and is ruggedly constructed to withstand demanding conditions and heavy duty industrial applications. The transformer and load assembly is mounted on a 3/16" thick carbon steel mounting platform and the load center/distribution assembly is mounted to the standard 2" x 2" x 1/8" square carbon steel tubing frame, resulting in an extremely stable, durable and well protected power distribution platform. This model is equipped with forklift skid pockets, locking polyurethane casters, and a top located lifting eyelet which allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This can be replaced for an additional cost with stainless steel, hot dip galvanized steel, or aluminum depending on the customer’s needs. Larger units are available upon request and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted. Grounding: Transformer is grounded to the frame and we provide a grounding lug on the frame for the earth ground. ~Please check all motor loads for dual rated motors that will work 208 or 240.~ Applications: This power distribution system is ideal for indoor or outdoor use and applications including but not limited to, construction sites, plant maintenance, plant turnarounds, shows, exhibits, and shipyard operations. These power distribution systems are popularly used in applications where external power sources are often necessary. We also offer class rated transformers for use within explosion proof and hazardous location environments. Custom Built Systems Available: Larson Electronics is a manufacturer and we can build portable power distribution systems to your specifications. Although we carry several models of portable power distribution systems in stock, we can deliver custom ordered units almost as quickly as our prebuilt units.
