The Larson Electronics MGS-4803P.CL-45KVA-208Y.120-MOD1 Power Distribution Substation converts three-phase 480V AC electrical current to three-phase 208Y/120V AC. This unit provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480V AC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power.

Portable Power Distribution Purpose and Use
The MGS-4803P.CL-45KVA-208Y.120-MOD1 portable power distribution system gives operators the ability to power their 480 volt, 240 volt and 120 volt equipment from a single system. On the primary side, operators connect 480 volt line-in power via one set of 690-amp 600V rated male camlocks (yellow, brown, orange and green with weatherproof protective caps and lanyards) and to two 4200RS1W, two IEC 60309Ê4100R7W and six IEC 60309Ê460R7W receptacles for 480V equipment. On the secondary side, four IEC 60309 560R9W, two CS8369 twist-lock and two L21-30R receptacles for 208V equipment, as well as four 5-20R duplex GFCI receptacles for 120V equipment are available. All receptacles are protected by weatherproof covers.

Operation: One set of 690-amp 600V rated male camlocks (yellow, brown, orange and green) brings three-phase 480V power to the NEMA 3R 400-amp, three-phase 480V main circuit breaker panel on the primary side, which contains two 200-amp 3-pole 480V breakers protecting two 200-amp 4200RS1W 480V receptacles, two 100-amp 3-pole 480V breakers protecting two 100-amp 4100R7W 480V receptacles and six 60-amp 3-pole 480V breakers protecting six 60-amp 460R7W 480V receptacles, and passes power to the transformer. The NEMA 3R 45 KVA transformer with weather shield converts three-phase 480V AC to three-phase 208Y/120V AC 60Hz and passes the current to the secondary panel. The secondary side of the transformer feeds a NEMA 3R 125-amp, three-phase 208Y/120V main circuit breaker panel. This secondary panel contains four 60-amp 3-pole 208V breakers protecting four 560R9W 208V receptacles, two 50-amp 3-pole 208V breakers protecting two 50-amp CS8369 208V receptacles, two 30-amp 3-pole 208V breakers protecting two L21-30R 208V receptacles and four 20-amp 125V breakers protecting four 20-amp 5-20R 125V duplex GFCI receptacles.

Protective Construction: Unlike many portable power distribution boxes made of plastic and utilizing thin gauge, low grade metals in their construction, this unit is designed for serious use and is ruggedly constructed to withstand demanding conditions and heavy duty industrial applications. The transformer and load assembly is mounted on a 3/16" thick carbon steel mounting platform and the load center/distribution assembly is mounted to the standard 2" x 2" x 1/8" square carbon steel tubing frame, resulting in an extremely stable, durable and well protected power distribution platform. This model is equipped with forklift skid pockets, locking casters, and a top located lifting eyelet which allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This can be replaced for an additional cost with stainless steel, hot dip galvanized steel, or aluminum depending on the customerÕs needs. Larger units are available upon request and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted.

Certification: All units are built in accordance to NFPA 70 (National Electric Code). All equipment is NEMA 3R rated for indoor and outdoor use and provide a degree of protection against dirt, water, and ice. NEMA 4 and NEMA 4X equipment can be equipped upon request.

Grounding: Transformer is grounded to the frame and we provide a grounding lug on the frame for the earth ground.
