Made in Texas This MGL-25K-6X20.120-1X60.240-ATS temporary power distribution system converts three-phase 480V AC electrical current into three-phase 120/240V AC. Equipped with an automatic transfer switch, this unit provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480V AC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power.*PLEASE NOTE: ANY FREE SHIPPING OFFERS DO NOT APPLY TO POWER DISTRIBUTION PANELS, TRANSFORMERS, OR SUBSTATIONS* Portable Power Distribution Purpose and Use: The MGL-25K-6X20.120-1X60.240-ATS portable power distribution system gives operators the ability to power their 240 volt and 120 volt equipment from a single system. On the primary side, operators connect 480V using a 10` #8 Type W cord. On the secondary side, operators connect to one 360R6W receptacle for 240V equipment and to six 5-20R GFCI quad receptacles for 120V equipment. All receptacles are equipped with weatherproof covers. Operators may also access an automatic transfer switch with 10` of #4 Type W cord on the secondary side. Operation: A 10` #8 Type W cord brings three-phase 480V power to the NEMA 3R 60-amp 480V three phase primary disconnect, which contains two 60-amp time delay fuses, and passes single-phase 480V power through to the transformer. The NEMA 3R 25 KVA transformer converts single-phase 480V to single-phase 120/240V and passes the current to the secondary side. The secondary side of the transformer feeds a NEMA 3R 100-amp 120/240V single phase shunt-trip main circuit breaker panel. This secondary side contains one 60-amp 2-pole 250V breaker protecting one 60-amp 250V 360R6W receptacle and six 20-amp 1-pole 125V breakers protecting six 20-amp 125V 5-20R GFCI quad receptacles. Automatic Transfer Switch: The NEMA 3R 100-amp automatic transfer switch sits between the transformer and the secondary panel. When it detects power coming from the transformer, it ensures the line-in cable dedicated to 120/240V service is not energized. When the line-in cable for 480-120/240V is de-energized, the ATS ensures the line-in cable dedicated to 120/240V service is energized. In either scenario, the customer can access the provided outlets on the secondary side. In the event the 10` #4 Type W line-in cable for 120/240V single phase is energized, the secondary panel passes single-phase power to the one 60-amp breaker/360R6W receptacle and six 20-amp breakers/5-20R GFCI quad receptacles with weatherproof covers. In this scenario, the ATS will cut off power to the de-energized single phase 480V line-in cable so electrical hazards are eliminated. Protective Construction: The transformer and load center/distribution assembly is mounted to a standard steel cart style frame resulting in an extremely stable, durable, and mobile power distribution platform. A cart style mounting platform provides easier substation mobility, and a center point lift eye allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This temporary power distribution solution can be modified to meet the needs of job-site receptacle requirements. Units are available up to 150kva and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted. Certification: Larson Electronics is a UL 1640 panel shop and certified to build portable power distribution systems. All units are built in accordance to NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and certified to UL 1640. All equipment is NEMA 3R rated for indoor and outdoor use and provide a degree of protection against dirt, water, and ice. NEMA 4 and NEMA 4X equipment can be equipped upon request. Grounding: Transformer is grounded to the frame and we provide a grounding lug on the frame for the earth ground. ~Please check all motor loads for dual rated motors that will work 208 or 240.~ Applications: This power distribution system is NEMA 3R rated and ideal for indoor/outdoor use and applications including but not limited to; construction sites, plant maintenance, plant turnarounds, shows, exhibits and shipyard operations. Larson Electronics is a manufacturer and as such can build portable transformer systems to your specifications. Although we carry several models of power distribution transformers, we can deliver custom ordered units almost as quickly as our prebuilt units. If this model does not meet your needs, please contact us at 888-325-4448 [email protected] to discuss your specific requirements.
