Made in Texas This MGL-25K-6X20.120-1X30.240-ATS power distribution system is designed to accommodate two different types of power source scenarios. Sometimes contractors go to one worksite and have access to single phase 120/240V power. This system will enable them to run grinders on 120V and larger equipment on 240V. Other times, they only have access to 480V power. This power distribution system will enable them to run their grinders on 120V and larger equipment on 240V. So we designed this system to accommodate either scenario with a built in automatic transfer switch (ATS).*PLEASE NOTE: ANY FREE SHIPPING OFFERS DO NOT APPLY TO POWER DISTRIBUTION PANELS, TRANSFORMERS, OR SUBSTATIONS* The automatic transfer switch sits between the transformer and the secondary panel. When it detects power coming from the 480-120/240V transformer, it ensures the line-in cable dedicated for 120/240V service is not energized. When the line-in cable for 480-120/240V is de-energized, the ATS ensures the line-in cable dedicated for 120/240V service is energized. In either scenario, the customer can access the 125V 5-20 outlets and the 30-amp 250V outlet provided. In the event that the 10-foot #4 Type W line-in cable for the 120/240V single phase is energized, the secondary panel passes that single phase power to the 30-amp breaker and the 330R6W receptacle and the six 125V 5-20R receptacles all with weatherproof covers. In this scenario, the ATS will cut off power to the de-energized single phase 480V line-in cable so electrical hazards are eliminated. In the event that the 10-foot #8 Type W line-in cable for the 480-120/240V transformer is energized, the secondary panel passes that single phase power to the 30-amp breaker and the 330R6W receptacle and the six 125V 5-20R receptacles. In this scenario, the ATS will cut off power to the energized single phase 120/240V line-in cable so electrical hazards are eliminated. Description: When dealing with a 480V primary power source, a #8 Type W cable (10-foot) brings 480V power to a 60-amp NEMA 3R fused disconnect. The disconnect protects the 480V-120/240V single phase, potted NEMA 3R transformer. Power passes from the transformer through the automatic transfer switch to the 100-amp main breaker NEMA 3R secondary panel. The secondary panel is setup with a shunt trip main breaker and feed through buss. The secondary panel contains a 30-amp 250V breaker protecting a 330R6W receptacle (with cover) for 240V applications; six 20-amp, 125V breakers protecting six 5-20R GFI outlets with covers. When dealing with a 120/240V primary power source, a #4 Type W cable (10-foot) brings 120/240V power to the automatic transfer switch. When energized, the ATS passes the 120/240V power to the same 100-amp main breaker NEMA 3R secondary panel described above, energizing the six 5-20 outlets and a 30-amp Hubbell 330R6W receptacle. The NEMA 3R potted transformer and load center/distribution assembly is mounted to a standard steel, cart style frame resulting in an extremely stable, durable, and mobile power distribution platform. Two rubber tires and a cart style mounting platform provides easier substation mobility, and a center point lift eye allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This temporary power distribution solution can be modified to meet the needs of job-site receptacle requirements. Other configurations are available and can be equipped in skid or trailer mount form factors. This power distribution system conforms to UL 1640. Applications: This power distribution system is NEMA 3R rated and ideal for indoor/outdoor use and applications including but not limited to; construction sites, plant maintenance, plant turnarounds, shows, exhibits and shipyard operations. Larson Electronics is a manufacturer and as such can build portable transformer systems to your specifications. Although we carry several models of power distribution transformers, we can deliver custom ordered units almost as quickly as our prebuilt units.
