The Larson Electronics MPD-HW3-TL.30AB-SE15SZ-DZ-18.X01-M1 Explosion Proof Temporary Power Distribution Station converts single-phase 480V AC electrical current to single-phase 120/240V AC. This explosion proof unit provides operators with the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480V AC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power.

Portable Power Distribution Purpose and Use
The MPD-HW3-TL.30AB-SE15SZ-DZ-18.X01-M1 temporary power distribution system gives operators the ability to power their 120 volt equipment from a single system. On the primary side, operators connect single-phase 480 volt line-in power using a customer-provided cord. On the secondary side, operators may access eighteen explosion proof receptacles with GFCI protection for 120V equipment.

Operation: A customer-provided line-in cord brings single-phase 480V power to the Class I, Division 1-2 primary disconnect, which contains 30-amp 480V time delay fuses, and passes power to the transformer. The explosion proof Class I, Division 2 15 KVA transformer converts single-phase 480V AC to 120/240V AC and passes the current to the secondary side of the system. The secondary side of the transformer feeds a Class I, Division 1-2 60-amp single-phase 120/240V main lug only panelboard, which contains nine 20-amp 1-pole 125V main circuit breakers protecting eighteen Class I, Division 1-2 explosion proof 125V 5-20R receptacles with GFCI protection.

Protective Construction: The transformer and load center/distribution assembly is mounted to a powder coated aluminum, dolly cart style frame, resulting in an extremely stable, durable, and mobile power distribution platform. Two run-flat rubber tires and a dolly cart style mounting platform provides easier substation mobility, and a center point lift point allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks.

This temporary power distribution solution can be modified to meet the needs of job-site receptacle requirements. Units are available up to 150KVA, and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted.

Certification: All units are built in accordance to NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and NRTL certified to UL 1640. All equipment is NEMA 3R rated for indoor and outdoor use and provide a degree of protection against dirt, water, and ice. NEMA 4 and NEMA 4X equipment can be equipped upon request.

Grounding: Transformer is grounded to the frame and we provide a grounding lug on the frame for the earth ground.

Applications: This power distribution system is NEMA 3R rated and ideal for indoor/outdoor use and applications including but not limited to; construction sites, plant maintenance, plant turnarounds, shows, exhibits and shipyard operations.
