The Larson Electronics EPFDS-100A-3P-3X100A.600V-TD Explosion Proof Disconnect Switch is designed for use in Class I, II and III environments. Equipped with time-delay fuses, this 3-pole unit contains three, 100-amp 600V fuses and two NPT hubs. The explosion proof disconnect offers delayed response to transient surges, making it ideal for addressing pulse currents and temporary overloads associated with motors, HVAC systems and HID lights in flammable work sites. *PLEASE NOTE: ANY FREE SHIPPING OFFERS DO NOT APPLY TO EXPLOSION PROOF ENCLOSURES* The EPFDS-100A-3P-3X100A.600V-TD ensures active protection of electrical systems in combustible facilities. Rated at 600V AC, this fused unit contains three, 100-amp 3-pole 600V time-delay fuses. The fuses feature 10-second time delay at 500% overload. These explosion proof disconnects are not sensitive to electrical pulses, allowing connected systems to utilize more power without activating the fuse. Time-delay fuses (also known as a short-blow fuse or a slow-blow fuse) can withstand electrical surges for a specific period of time, typically 10-15 seconds. This feature is useful for equipment that relies on high voltage current during startup, such as motors. Choosing between a time-delay fuse and a fast-acting fuse highly depends on the type of system or device requiring protection, as both protective methods are effective (one is not superior over the other). Operators are provided access to a copper-free aluminum handle, which can be padlocked in the ON or OFF position. The ATEX-rated explosion proof disconnect is constructed of copper-free aluminum, with stainless steel hardware. For durability, the unit is finished in aluminum lacquer paint and features a NEMA-rated enclosure. Hubs: For completing electrical connections, two NPT hubs are provided on the enclosure. One 2" NPT hub at the top; and one 0.5" NPT hub at the bottom are available during installation. Mounting: Operators can mount the explosion proof disconnect on walls or flat surfaces. Applications: Motors, VFDs, phase converters, HVAC systems, dryers, fluorescent lights, HID lights, metal halide, high pressure sodium, mercury vapor, petroleum refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants, storage areas, and other processing facilities where hazardous substances are handled or stored.
