Round tapered aluminum hinged pole with standard 10-foot to 20-foot maximum mounting heights but can be provided in shorter lengths as needed. Excellent for applications where maintenance access is limited, e.g. Water Treatment Plants Construction Shaft: The shaft is spun tapered from seamless 6063 alloy aluminum tubing and heat treated to a T6 temper. Round in cross-section down length of shaft and cone tapered to the butt diameter. Hinged anchor base: Cast from A356 aluminum alloy and heat treated to T6 temper. Shaft and tilting section of the hinged base are circumferentially welded top and bottom. The tilting and anchored sections of the hinged base are joined by a 3/4" diameter solid aluminum pivot rod. The tilting section of the hinged base is held in a vertical position by three 1/2"-13 x 2" stainless steel hex head bolts that attach to stainless steel inserts cast into the aluminum base. Hinge is considered side A of the pole for orientation purposes and signifies the downward direction the pole will lower. Anchor bolts: Fabricated from carbon steel bar with minimum-yield strength of 55,000 psi. Bolts have an "L" bend on lower end and are galvanized a minimum of 12 inches on the threaded end per ASTM A-153. Each anchor bolt is furnished with two hex nuts and two flat washers. Grounding: Anchor base plate is tapped for 3/8"-16 UNC stainless steel grounding bolt (provided by others). Hand hole: Available as an option; Standard location is 90¡ to the right (side B) of the hinge (side A) and 18Ó above hinged base.
