The HAL-24-2L-BMSW-SS.316-BL-UVC from Larson Electronics is a Hazardous Location UV Fluorescent Fixture that provides UVC illumination in Class I, Division 2 rated locations. This 120-watt unit features two, 2-foot T8HO UV fluorescent lamps, housed in a copper-free aluminum housing and protected by a glass lens. The hazardous location luminary caters to surface or pendant mounting and operates on 120-277 V AC, 50/60 Hz.

The HAL-24-2L-BMSW-SS.316-BL-UVC is a fluorescent-based UV lighting system for Class I, Division 2 facilities requiring effective sanitation or disinfection. Equipped with two, 24" UVC fluorescent lamps, this system offers 26.6 watts of total UV output, within the 200nm - 280nm UV-C range (254 nm peak). The UV irradiance is 120 uW/cm2 per lamp. The lights have an expected lifespan of 8,000+ hours and emit a flood beam pattern.

The UV light's housing is constructed of 316 stainless steel, with stainless steel hardware. The lamp reflector is corrosion resistant heavy gauge aluminum and coated with a high gloss reflective finish. A glass lens protects the unit and provides robust transmission of UV light during operation, at a rate of 96%.

This hazardous location UV fixture is a Risk Group 3 UV product. UV radiation from the unit can damage the skin and eyes without proper protection. Operators should avoid exposure to the eyes and skin when the unit is unshielded (for use in enclosed environments only). In the event of lamp breakage, it is recommended to ventilate the room for 30 minutes and clean the area with gloves (not a vacuum cleaner). Contents should be stored in a sealed plastic bag and brought to a waste/recycling facility.

Surface Mount: The HAL-24-2L-BMSW-SS.316-BL-UVC features a surface mounting system. Surface mounting brackets on the housing facilitate a low profile wall or ceiling mount, making it suitable for installations in tight spaces. Power connections to the UV unit can be completed via two accessible, threaded, zinc-coated wiring hubs (1/2" or 3/4").

Pendant Mount: The HAL-24-2L-BMSW-SS.316-BL-UVC is designed to be pendant mounted. Two conduit holes on the top of the enclosure allow for pendant mounting from a flat and level surface. The surface mount pendant adaptor plate and 1/2" conduit hubs are included. The HAL-24-2L-BMSW-SS.316-BL-UVC does not come with conduit. Customer provides their own conduit to complete the mounting process.

Note on Environment: Sunlight and visible light fixtures do not impact the effectiveness of the disinfecting on this UVC sanitation product. Metal halide, high pressure sodium, fluorescent, and LED light fixtures can be left on. The UV radiation emitted from this product is not disrupted by any type of lighting in the environment. Put simply, NO it DOES NOT need to be dark in the area you plan to disinfect. The UV radiation is harmful to the eyes and skin, and that is why you should not be in the area while it is in operation.
