This ultra compact LED light produces 860 lumens during output with low voltage and amp draw, 50,000+ hours of service life and several voltage compatibilities. The luminary is powered by a 30-watt solar panel with an internal 8aH SLA battery. The SPLED-LEDWL-RED is a sustainable solution for pedestrian warning systems in remote work sites and locations. This solar-powered unit produces 860 lumens of bright red light during operation. A single CREE XLamp MC-E¨ 10 watt LED is combined with high purity optics to produce a narrow 10 degree spread spot beam approximately 5` in diameter when mounted 40` above a finished floor. This luminary is powered by solar panels with an internal battery. The LEDP WRE series LED lights are waterproof to 3 meters, sealed against intrusion by dust and dirt and very ruggedly constructed to withstand the most demanding environments, conditions and applications. An integral Pulse Width Modulation controller, small profile, low power requirements, high durability and versatile mounting makes these LED lights ideal for industrial manufacturing applications. LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life. LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps. Cree Specific: This pedestrian warning lamp uses Cree LED units that have been chosen for their high lumen per watt ratio and extreme longevity. These Cree LEDs generate a robust 86 lumens per watt effective lumen output and have a 70% lumen retention at 50,000 hours, giving them better efficiency and operational life than traditional light sources. Spot Beam- Shallow/Special Contour: The unique shape and shallow contour of the reflector is paired with a convex lens and inset lens position to efficiently capture and project a focused beam of light while reducing the light spillage and waste that is common with many spotlights. This efficient design also reduces casting, a phenomenon that occurs when wasted light "spills" around the light source. Often times, when surrounded by water, snow or other reflective surfaces, this light spillage prevents the human eye from adjusting properly and seeing objects at distance. With the SPLED-LEDWL-RED spotlight configuration, 90% of the emitted light is captured and focused, clearly and sharply illuminating objects all the way to the end of the beam reach. LED Drivers: Even in LED fixtures, heat is the single largest factor in premature light failure and color shifting. As a result, many manufacturers reduce the output of their LEDs in order to reduce the amount of heat produced. Rather than lower light output or quality, Larson Electronics addresses this problem with the addition of an electronic LED driver. This internal driver provides the ability to automatically monitor and adjust input current to maintain the correct LED voltage levels regardless of input levels across a specific range. This not only reduces the energy dissipation, effectively lowering the operating temperature of the fixture, but also prevents AC over-voltage and short circuit loading making this fixture virtually maintenance free. Because the electronic driver allows the SPLED-LEDWL-RED to run at a cooler internal temperature and regulates the electrical current, energy efficiency and LED service hours are maximized while at the same time reducing operating costs and downtime incurred from the frequent servicing intervals required with other hotter running lights. Heat Management: Heat is the single largest factor in premature LED failure and color shifting. These LED units contain advanced drivers which use pulse width modulation to control heat buildup rather than simple voltage regulators which are typically harsh on sensitive electronics and can contribute to early LED failure. These units automatically sense the temperature of each LED and adjust the energy frequency or "duty cycle" accordingly to maintain heat levels within acceptable ranges. This system in essence flashes current at an extremely fast on and off rate to each LED based upon the LED’s core temperature. This flash rate is too fast to detect with the human eye, but provides precise control of the current flowing to each LED and thus the heat it generates. This allows the LEDs to be driven at up to 100% capacity without overheating or visible loss of light output. The LEDs are always driven at the same voltage but the duty cycle, however, is changed to alter how long the LEDs are actually on or off. The end result is more light with less heat and longer LED life with an average 70% lumen maintenance after 50,000 hours. Voltage: The drivers in this unit provide the ability to automatically monitor and adjust input current to maintain the correct LED voltage levels regardless of input levels across a specific range. These LED lights can operate on current ranging from 90 to 305V AC or 127 to 431V DC without any modifications necessary as a result. (347-480V AC and 12-24V DC available upon request). This ability to sense and adjust input current also provides protection against voltage spikes and drops that can occur in electrical systems which would otherwise result in burning up or premature LED failure without it. Durability: As well as unparalleled heat control, the LEDP WRE series of LED lights from Larson Electronics also offer IP68 rated construction that is designed to withstand extremes of environmental and operating conditions. These units can withstand rapid temperature changes of -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius, are waterproof to three meters and resist ingress of dust, dirt and humidity. The housings are formed from extruded aluminum and the lenses are unbreakable polycarbonate. The CREE XLamp XM-L¨ LEDs offer resistance to shocks and vibrations and are rated at 70% lumen maintenance after 50,000 hours of use. Solar Panels/Batteries: The SPLED-LEDWL-RED comes with a 30-watt solar panel. This component can recharge an included 8aH sealed lead acid battery in 5 hours, when exposed to direct sunlight. The power cell is contained within the solar panel, not the connected equipment. The solar panel is weatherproof and designed to catch the maximum amount of sunlight possible when properly mounted. This solar panel is configured to operate non-stop 24/7, day/night with photocell, motion sensor for security purposes, on/off switch for manual operation, or flying leads for operators to connect to user provided external switches. The day/night and motion sensor is programmed to activate the solar panel in the evening and shut it off during the day, activating the LED light when ambient lighting falls below 1 lux. The motion sensor will activate the panel upon detecting movement within range of the panel. Mounting: The SPLED-LEDWL-RED supports separate mounting options for the solar panel and LED warning light. The red luminary is suspended with a U-bracket style trunnion with tension bolt, allowing the LED light to be adjusted and then re-tightened to lock the light into any desired position once mounted. A single stainless steel stud protrudes from the bottom of the mount, enabling the operator to install the light using a simple through-hole mount, allowing the unit to be installed anywhere a 1/2-inch hole can be drilled. The solar panel features a mounting apparatus that is designed to allow a variety of options, including flat surfaces, such as a wall and square or round pole mounting. The compact LED lamp is connected to the panel by a 20` cord, which provides flexibility for positioning of the solar panel and LED light in their respective locations, independently of each other.
